I am a ceramic artist and graphic designer. I hold two Bachelors of Fine Arts Degrees with honors in Graphic Design and Ceramics from Maine College of Art and I work as an artist. I've been a graphic designer, professional production potter, art teacher, and I've had exhibitions throughout the US. My focus is on sculptural work because that excites me most, but I do make many functional pieces for the kitchen or wall and have at Etsy shop with more ‘portable’ work. I have so much fun creating something amazing from a pile of mud. That is what kept me in this medium since a young age. My first taste was when my mom gave me some play-doh and showed me how to make a rose. From then on, I was hooked.

Maine is where I grew up and where I have my studio now. I draw inspiration from Maine wildlife, fantasy type creatures, and dark humor. In my work, you’ll see some serene, yet creepy or even work that is a bit unsettling. It makes you think about the piece for a while after you’ve looked at it. I enjoy depicting emotion through clay. It has a raw quality that makes the surface so appealing to me. It helps convey the feeling of each piece as well. In my work, you’ll see my fingerprints, where I push or pull the clay or use a special tool. I feel my markings of the hand are very important in my work and keep the art looking real and handcrafted.

I believe we need art in our everyday lives and that it enriches daily life. Art in the home enhances your life. I fill my life up with art from my own set of skills and from many other artists and I believe we should be supporting our local artisans! I love making what I do and I hope to share my art with you and make your life more beautiful every day.
